Greer A. Kendall
Executive Director

Greer Kendall was, in a sense, born as a foreign missionary. His involvement in family missions began when he was born in the country of Zambia, Africa while his parents were serving there as full-time missionaries. In addition to the 16 years his parents served as career missionaries on two continents, upon returning to America, they continued to coordinate and lead multiple short-term mission teams of American families to Asia and South America over a period of another 8 years, until his dad’s health began to fail. This was the beginning of Greer’s direct and personal involvement in international family missions and showed him the power of God to transform people’s lives as they submit to the command of the Lord Jesus Christ in the Great Commission to go into the all the world and make disciples.

Greer grew up attending the First Baptist Church in Dallas and personally accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior when he was 14 years old. Upon graduating from First Baptist Academy high school and then Baylor University with a degree in finance, he started his own financial acocunting firm, while also taking classes at Dallas Seminary. In the June of 2000, Greer returned to his birth country of Zambia for the first time as an adult since leaving it when he was six years old. That week he participated in a one week, evangelistic church planting mission trip that would forever change his life, and embark him on the course of becoming the missionary he was born to be.Following that trip, the Lord laid it on his heart to incorporate Family Legacy Missions International in September of 2000 to serve as a catalyst and facilitator for families to become directly involved in short-term international missions. In 2001, Greer officially transferred his business to another advisor and since then he has devoted virtually all of his time to help families live out the Great Commission by becoming “Families on Mission” as they go out into the world together with the Good News of Jesus. Since the year 2000, Greer has taken or led 10 different mission trips to Zambia and coordinated a growing number of families to go together, grow together and leave a lasting legacy of serving God by serving the orphans of Zambia.

The Kendall Family at Camp LIFE 2006

Greer and his wife, Susan, have been married since 1990 and have three children: Jonathan (born in 1993), Karis (born in 1995), and Kaleigh (born in 1999) that make up their own family legacy. They are active attendees of Coppell Bible Church in the Dallas area. His passion is Jesus, missions, families and orphans. The family legacy he hopes to leave is one of taking up his cross, seeking first the Kingdom of God, and following hard after the glory of Jesus as he instills in his children and families everywhere the power of God to transform lives through direct and personal involvement in fulfilling the Great Commission.

Greer's personal life motto is “All from Him…All to Him…All for Him”.

Holly Scurry
Director of Ministry Operations

Holly Scurry grew up attending Highland Park United Methodist Church and personally accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at a Young Life Camp when she was 14 years old. Ten years later, Holly is actively involved in spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the orphans of Zambia, Africa while discipling whole families in the process. Holly’s four major passions are Jesus, missions, families, and orphans. Since falling in love with her Savior, Holly began developing a strong heart for missions as she was actively engaging herself in mission trips with her church youth group. After graduating from Lake Highlands High School in 1999, she started working at Pine Cove Family Christian Camp during her next four summers while attending Texas A&M University.

During her time at Texas A&M, the Lord used Holly’s passion for missions to help start up a mission organization called Aggie in Mission (AIM), which is a Christian mission group that takes 150 Aggies to Juarez, Mexico during Spring Break to build houses for homeless families. The summer after her junior year in college, the Lord led Holly to go on a summer mission trip to Zambia, Africa. That summer, Holly participated in a one month, evangelistic church planting campaign that would forever change her life, and embark her on the course of becoming the missionary she was born to be. Upon seeing the multitudes of helpless and suffering children there, Holly could not turn her back on them. Through Pine Cove Family Camp, Holly providentially met the Executive Director for Family Legacy Missions International (a family missions organization that ministers to the AIDS orphan of Zambia), a ministry that she would later join full-time.

Upon graduation in May of 2003 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Communications and a minor in Business, Holly was accepted to do an intern program with Family Life in Little Rock, Arkansas. Immediately following that in the Fall of 2003, she was accepted into the Focus on the Family Institute in Colorado Springs for their family ministry training program. Since graduating from the Institute, Holly launched head long into full-time missions with Family Legacy Missions International working as the Project Director for “Families on Mission”. Holly is active at Irving Bible Church in the Dallas area. The legacy that she hopes to leave is one of taking up her cross, seeking first the Kingdom of God, and following hard after the glory of Jesus as she instills in families everywhere the power of God to transform lives through direct and personal involvement in fulfilling the Great Commission.

Holly’s life verse is Acts 20:24,“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me ~ the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace.”

Kit Whitehill
Camp LIFE Project Coordinator

Kit Whitehill accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior on May 5th, 2000. Since that time she has felt God's hand guiding her and preparing her for her work with Family Legacy Missions International. Kit graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in finance and worked until the birth of her first child in 1984. She and her husband Bill have been married since 1979 and have three children: Ben (born in 1984), Calli (born in 1987) and Will (born in 1991). Kit's first trip to Zambia, which was also her first mission trip, was in 2005 with Calli and Will. Upon returning to America, Bill and Ben saw the impact the trip had on their lives and in 2006 their entire family came to Camp LIFE Zambia. God touched Kit in an amazing way when alongside of her family, she had the opportunity to hold, touch, teach and love children who have lost virtually everything. Her life was changed forever.

A smiling Kit

That single experience birthed deep within her heart a strong passion for the children and people of Zambia. The Lord laid it on her heart to do more for the orphans of Zambia and made it possible for her to join the staff of the growing ministry of Family Legacy in October of 2007 as the Camp LIFE Zambia Project Coordinator. Kit loves her Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart and hopes to leave a legacy to her family and to all who know her of service to HIM and HIS Kids.

Kit's life verse is, “For I helped the poor in their need and the orphans who had no one to help them. I helped those who had lost hope. And they blessed me.” Job 29: 12-13.

Jenny Windle
Father's Family Project Director

Jenny was born and raised in Houston, TX. She has wonderful parents whom she considers two of the biggest positive influencers of her life. She loves her family and is very thankful to have two amazing sisters, one being her twin sister, and a wonderful older half brother.

Jenny's Christian life began for her at the age of 12 when she became a believer in Jesus Christ at a youth retreat in 6th grade. From that time until now, she has had a yearning to see others know Christ just as she knows Him. She attended Texas A&M University and graduated in December 2003 with a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Science. Her passion for foreign missions began her sophomore year of college when she was intrigued by a friend's desire to serve in Africa. Her plan was to attend PA school and eventually move into the medical mission field. After interviewing at different PA schools, she quickly realized that her true passion was for serving youth, specifically those at her current church, Grace Bible, and orphans in Africa. Soon after she had accepted a job working with the Junior High students at Grace Bible Church, an old college roommate and now best friend, Holly Scurry, encouraged her to become a camp counselor in Zambia, Africa for 2 weeks for a group of orphaned and vulnerable children. One month later she was on her way to Zambia where, by the second day, she would come to realize that the Lord had created her specifically to serve these children. Her life was forever changed.

In September 2007, she came on staff with Family Legacy and now works full-time as the Project Director for the Father's Family. This program encompasses the LifeWAY Christian School, LifeVISION Homes and will eventually include certain areas within the Tree of Life Children's Village. Additionally, Jenny is the American liaison for Family Legacy's Remote Camps that happen all throughout the year in the distant provinces in Zambia. She is so grateful for the desires the Lord has given to her to serve the children of Zambia, Africa. There is no other place she would rather be than pursing relationships with these kids and sharing with them the love of Jesus Christ.

Jenny's life verse is, "So we do not lose heart. Though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day. For this slight momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18.

Randy Rieffel
Technology & Logistics

Randy Rieffel was born and raised in Indiana and accepted Christ as his Savior at a young age. Even at an early age, he knew he wanted to attend Purdue University to study Electrical Engineering. After receiving his degree in 2000, Randy immediately moved to Austin, Texas to work for AMD, a computer microprocessor company. The next 7 years in Austin were a great blessing to Randy. Throughout this time in Austin, Randy was able to connect very closely with the people at AMD, at his church "The Austin Stone", the local Red Cross chapter, and the local Purdue Alumni Club. Austin quickly became a great place to call a "home-away-from-home".

Although Randy was living a "dream" life in Austin, God placed a desire in his heart for the children in Africa. Randy wanted to tend to those who were crying out for help but had no one to hear their cries. Early in 2006, Randy joined with the American Red Cross with the sole intention of becoming an international relief volunteer to Africa. However, a person could only do international relief only after gaining extensive experience reaching out to the local Austin needs. Only several weeks after signing up with the Red Cross, Randy heard of Family Legacy Missions and the Camp LIFE mission trips they hold every summer. Randy immediately jumped on this opportunity to take part in Family Legacy's Camp LIFE mission in the summer of 2006.

Spending time in Zambia during the summer of 2006 really touched Randy, and it planted a seed within him to do more than participating during the summer months. The hardest part of this decision was knowing he would have to completely exchange his current life for a new one. However, Randy felt that other blessings were awaiting him that he currently never experienced. In the spring of 2007, Randy officially quit his job at AMD and attended the 2007 summer Camp LIFE mission. Only a few weeks after returning back to America, Randy found himself living in Dallas working full time as a volunteer at Family Legacy to help the 2008 summer Camp LIFE mission and beyond.

Randy's life verse is: "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:10
