Baby Joe is a sponsored child through our Father’s Heart program. Joe is a double orphan who was diagnosed with HIV this past year. Because of Joe’s sponsorship, we have been able to pay for Joe’s school fees, uniform and some notebooks and pens. The Father’s Heart program has also provided Joe with nice clothes — and he loves his new tennis shoes that he received at Camp LIFE 2008.
Our health department has been facilitating helping Joe get direct medical care for his HIV/AIDS treatment on a monthly basis in order to treat the symptoms as well as the transportation to get to the doctor’s office, which is across town. Our wonderful staff makes sure he is weighed, has all the daily medication necessary, and gets his blood tested at the doctor. During Joe’s last regular HIV/AIDS check-up, we brought to the attention of the doctor some recently developed sores on little Joe’s head.
