Greer Kendall was, in a sense, born as a foreign missionary. His involvement in family missions began when he was born in the country of Zambia, Africa while his parents were serving as full-time missionaries. In addition to the 16 years his parents served as career missionaries on two continents, upon returning to America, they continued to coordinate and lead multiple short-term mission teams of American families to Asia and South America over a period of another 8 years until his dad’s health began to fail. This was the beginning of Greer’s direct and personal involvement in international family missions and showed him the power of God to transform people’s lives as they submit to the command of the Lord Jesus Christ in the Great Commission to go into the all the world and make disciples.
Greer grew up attending the First Baptist Church in Dallas and personally accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior when he was 14 years old. Upon graduating from First Baptist Academy high school and then Baylor University with a degree in finance, he started his own financial accounting firm, while also taking classes at Dallas Seminary. In the June of 2000, Greer returned to his birth country of Zambia for the first time as an adult since leaving it when he was six years old. That week he participated in a one week, evangelistic church planting mission trip that would forever change his life, and embark him on the course of becoming the missionary he was born to be.
Following that trip, the Lord laid it on his heart to incorporate Family Legacy Missions International in September of 2000 to serve as a catalyst and facilitator for families to become directly involved in short-term international missions to the Orphans of Zambia. In 2001, Greer officially transferred his business to another advisor and since then he has devoted all of his time to help families live out the Great Commission by becoming “Families on Mission” as they go out into the world together with the Good News of Jesus. Since the year 2000, Greer has taken or led 20 different mission trips to Zambia and coordinated a growing number of families to go together, grow together and leave a lasting legacy of serving God by serving the orphans of Zambia.
Greer and his wife, Susan, have been married since 1990 and have three children: Jonathan (born in 1993), Karis (born in 1995), and Kaleigh (born in 1999) that make up their own family legacy. They are members of Coppell Bible Fellowship in the Dallas area. His passion is Jesus, missions, families and orphans. The family legacy he hopes to leave is one of taking up his cross, seeking first the Kingdom of God, and following hard after the glory of Jesus as he instills in his children and families everywhere the power of God to transform lives through direct and personal involvement in fulfilling the Great Commission.
Greer’s personal life motto is “All from Him…All to Him…All for Him”

Holly Scurry grew up attending Highland Park United Methodist Church and personally accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at a Young Life Camp when she was 14 years old. Fourteen years later, Holly is actively involved in spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the orphans of Zambia, Africa while discipling whole families in the process. Holly’s four major passions are Jesus, missions, families, and orphans. Since falling in love with her Savior, Holly began developing a strong heart for missions as she was actively engaging herself in mission trips with her church youth group. After graduating from Lake Highlands High School in 1999, she started working at Pine Cove Family Christian Camp during her next four summers while attending Texas A&M University.
During her time at Texas A&M, the Lord used Holly’s passion for missions to help start up a mission organization called Aggie in Mission (AIM), which is a Christian mission group that takes 150 Aggies to Juarez, Mexico during Spring Break to build houses for homeless families. The summer after her junior year in college, the Lord led Holly to go on a summer mission trip to Zambia, Africa. That summer, Holly participated in a one month, evangelistic church planting campaign that would forever change her life, and set her on the course of becoming the missionary she was always created to be.

Upon seeing the multitudes of helpless and suffering children there, Holly could not turn her back on them. Through Pine Cove Family Camp, Holly providentially met the Executive Director for Family Legacy Missions International, which she would later join with in full-time ministry.
Upon graduation in May of 2003 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Communications and a minor in Business, Holly was accepted to do an intern program with Family Life in Little Rock, Arkansas. Immediately following that in the Fall of 2003, she was accepted into the Focus on the Family Institute in Colorado Springs for their family ministry training program. Since graduating from the Institute, Holly launched head long into full-time missions with Family Legacy Missions International and has since been promoted to Director of Ministry Programs & Operations. In this role, she directly overseas two of Family Legacy’s main ministry divisions: Camp LIFE Zambia and The Father’s Heart Child Sponsorship & Development Program. Holly attends Prestonwood Baptist Church in the Dallas area. The legacy that she hopes to leave is one of bringing deep and abiding joy to Orphans in Zambia and families across America as together they come to know of God’s unending love for them.
Holly’s life verse is Acts 20:24,“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me ~ the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.”
Susan KendallCamp LIFE Coordinator
972-620-2020 x 120
Susan was born and raised in the small, east Texas town of Athens as the youngest of three children. Growing up, her parents lived their lives as a testimony of the Lord’s faithfulness. Her family attended First Baptist Church of Athens and as a 5th grader, Susan prayed to receive Jesus Christ as her savior.
Being involved in missions was instilled in Susan’s heart and mind at a very early age. When she was only a preschooler, her father, as a lay-person, began a non-profit ministry which worked directly with the people of Belize in Central America. Throughout her growing up years, he served as President of this organization (that is still in operation today) and was consistently either leading or sending teams of doctors, dentists, and other professionals into the ‘bush’ to administer health and the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Susan graduated from Baylor University in 1987 with a BBA and certification in secondary education. Though she and Greer were both at Baylor at the same time, both taking the same business courses, both knowing many of the same people, it was not the Lord’s timing for them to meet while they were students in Baylor. Providentially, they met in the Spring of 1990 at Fellowship Bible Church in the Dallas area – and they quickly realized that they were meant to be together for life. With the full blessings of both their families, they married later that year.
Over the next nine years of their marriage, the Lord blessed them with three beautiful children and a thriving business. Upon Greer’s return from Zambia in 2000, Susan knew that God was calling them in a new direction. Since she had been raised in a missions-minded family, the transition was a natural process and Susan realized that just as God’s Word says in Isaiah 43:19 that the Lord “was now doing a new thing, and it was springing up quickly!” Susan, Greer, and their three children (Jonathan, Karis, & Kaleigh) are actively involved on a daily basis as a family serving in ministry. Susan loves being Family Legacy’s Camp LIFE Coordinator, and is passionate about spreading the message of families impacting orphans and the reciprocal blessings back into their own lives as a result.
Susan’s life verse is Philippians 1: 9 – 10, “And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ – to the glory and praise of God.”
Rebecca EvansCamp LIFE Office & Program Assistant

Growing up, Rebecca attended church regularly and knew the reality of God through His amazing creation that surrounded her while living in both Montana and Colorado; however, she never knew how to connect with Him and longed for that connection. By the time Rebecca began her senior year of high school, she had made her way south to Houston, TX and she was so frustrated with going to church and not getting any closer to knowing God that she tried to turn her back on Him. This period of her life felt like a black hole. Near the end of the year, she took a road trip with one of her good friends who is a Christian. On the drive, her friend shared a vivid depiction of what Christ accomplished by his death on the cross. For the first time, Rebecca truly understood how Jesus is Lord and how he died and rose again to restore her connection with God. At 18, she prayed and received the free gift of eternal life through Christ!

Rebecca with her girls from Camp LIFE 2007
Rebecca attended The University of Texas at Austin and God connected her before classes even began to a wonderful church and ministry there. The summer after her freshman year, she took part in an intensive discipleship program where she first heard the dire need for young men and women to go to the nations and share the good news of Christ. The love of Christ compelled her to respond to this need. After graduation, Rebecca moved from Austin to Denton as part of a church planting team to help start a campus church and ministry at The University of North Texas. Soon after moving to Denton, God began to burden Rebecca’s heart for Africa and in 2006 she went on a mission trip to Kenya, loved it and began to pray for more open doors to Africa. In 2007 her prayers were answered when God led Rebecca to Family Legacy through a friend from Austin who moved up to DFW for a year to work there. Rebecca followed in her friend’s footsteps to join the staff at FLMI and has experienced immense joy through seeing the mighty hand of the Lord rescue the beautiful children in Zambia.

Sommer Clayman grew up attending Lake Arlington Baptist Church and was led to Christ in her living room with her mother when she was seven years old. Sommer was called to missions her senior year in high school while attending Falls Creek camp during the summer of 2000. While she did not understand the full extent of this calling, she knew that God was preparing her for an amazing journey only He could see.

Jeremy and Sommer visiting the Kanyama CRC during Camp LIFE 2009
Sommer attended the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, met her husband Jeremy, and graduated in the spring of 2004 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Master’s of Business Administration. After college, Sommer pursued a business career, attained her CPA and worked for Protiviti, a risk consulting firm where she was provided opportunities to learn about business growth in a variety of industries, work with remarkable people, and supervise engagements in both consulting and internal auditing. Knowing that Sommer’s true calling was missions, God led her down a path during the summer of 2008 to leave her position in consulting and transition to a role with Family Legacy where she could use her talents and abilities to minister to the children of Zambia. Experiencing Camp LIFE for the first time and connecting with her group of boys during the summer of 2009 confirmed Sommer’s decision and passion for this ministry. Sommer and Jeremy are active members of First Baptist Euless in the Dallas area.
Sommer’s favorite verse is:
1 Corinthians 2:9 “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him.”

Josh grew up in Coppell, TX and Jesus Christ called him to salvation as a youth while attending Valley Ranch Baptist Church. Apparently as punishment for some unknown sin in his life, the Lord sent Josh to Baylor University right after high school. After one year in Waco, God opened Josh’s eyes to the error of his ways and he spent the rest of his time at Texas A&M University.
While living in College Station, Josh was on staff for three years with Grace Bible Church as the junior high youth intern where he grew in the knowledge of the Lord and gained a passion to see the world come to know his Savior.
After graduation, Josh married his high school sweetheart, Mindy, and took a job with Accenture in Washington DC. Josh spent four years ministering in the work place as a consultant for clients such as the Department of Homeland Security, Lockheed Martin and Dr Pepper. In the evenings, he passed his time fighting crime in Gotham City.
The Lord began convincing Josh it was time for a career change only a few months before he and Mindy would attend Camp LIFE 2008. When they returned from Zambia, God providentially guided him into his current role with Family Legacy so that he could use the skills he learned in consulting to serve and minister to the orphans of Zambia. Josh and Mindy now live in Coppell and go to Irving Bible Church.
Josh’s life verse is:
Mark 14:51-52 “And a young man followed him, with nothing but a linen cloth about his body. And they seized him, but he left the linen cloth and ran away naked.”
Clay HugheyDirector of Marketing and Strategic Partnerships

Clay Hughey grew up attending First Methodist Church in Mansfield, Texas. He accepted Christ during confirmation class in sixth grade. Clay played golf at Mansfield High School and attended Stephen F. Austin University on a golf scholarship. Clay graduated with a degree in marketing and upon graduation, he went work in the promotional marketing industry. For seven of the eleven years Clay was in the promotional marketing industry, he was President of Footprint Marketing, the company he founded in 2000.
Clay got connected to Family Legacy in 2003 when a good friend, Stacie Painter, suggested that Family Legacy buy their camp t-shirts from him. That order for 2,500 t-shirts was the beginning of a great business relationship. In 2005, Clay attended week 3 of Camp LIFE and fell in love with the orphans of Zambia and the ministry of Family Legacy. “My favorite moment during my time in the promotional products industry was standing in the balcony during the rally after week 3 of camp and seeing 2,500 orphans wearing new t-shirts and holding their candle pens lights singing “This Little Light of Mine”. It is an image I will never forget. Knowing that I had a small part of providing the items that the orphans took so much joy in was completely awesome.”
The year 2008 was tough for Clay and his family, but looking back on it now, he can see that God was preparing him for a new calling. God had a plan and was in control of his life, even when it seemed everything was out of control. God changed Clay’s heart during that year and at the end of November, revealed to him his new calling. The Lord had been preparing Clay for full-time ministry to the orphans of Zambia!
Clay will call on his marketing experience in his role as Director of Development and Donor Relations at Family Legacy. “I am excited about opportunity the Lord has placed in front of me. I feel like the role and my experience are a perfect match.”
Clay and his wife Erin have four children; two boys, Parker and Bennett, and two girls, Elliana and Emerson. They attend The Village Church in Flower Mound.
Two of Clay’s favorite verses are:
Ephesians 2:10 “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before hand, that we shall walk in them.”
Ephesians 1:5 “In love He predestined us for adoption through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will.”

Paige Baten-Locke grew up attending St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church and Day school from 3 year old pre-school to 6th grade. It was in daily chapel time that her personal relationship with Jesus Christ as her Savior was sparked in her 4 year old kindergarten year.
Moving on to Highland Park Junior High and High School, Paige enjoyed many fun Episcopal Young Churchmen and Young Life ski trips. A lot of great memories at various New Mexico and Colorado slopes occurred. Upon graduating from high school, it was on to the University of Texas at Austin where she enjoyed wonderful fellowship and a deepening of her faith. Moving on to graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the University of North Texas in Denton, she has experienced running her own interior design firm since 1979. She still appreciates and enjoys having her practice today.
Paige is also a wife to Coach Chuck Locke, the Athletic Director and head coach at The Shelton School in Dallas. Paige met “Coach” while her precious daughter, Katie Leigh, attended Shelton. Katie Leigh is now a Baylor Bear. But, it was during her years attending Shelton that spurred her on to tell Paige that she wanted to go on a mission trip for her graduation present from high school. In 2007, Paige and Katie Leigh went to their first Camp Life session and the rest is history.

Andrew came to FLMI after spending 7 ½ years as the Director of International Aid at Buckner International. During this time he supervised the distribution of thousands of pair of shoes collected through Buckner’s Shoes for Orphan Souls program and provided shoes to FLMI for Camp LIFE. Through this involvement he became familiar with FLMI and came to value its Christ-centered, compassionate ministry to the orphans of Zambia. Andrew joined FLMI in January 2009 to expand and develop the Father’s Heart program and to help with the logistics of sending ocean containers of supplies to Zambia.
Andrew grew up in Dallas and attended Baylor University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in the University Scholars program with an emphasis in Russian Studies. After graduation he interned with Global Missions Fellowship (now E3 Partners) for eight months before enrolling in The George Washington University in Washington, DC where he received a Master of Arts degree in International Affairs. He and his wife Cynthia have three children and live in Mesquite (Andrew’s campaign to relocate the office to the east side of Dallas has been to no avail). Andrew enjoys sports, reading, writing, juggling, and unicycling.
John TuckerFather’s Heart Coordinator

John Tucker grew up attending Covenant Presbyterian Church in Austin, Texas. During his 6th grade his moved to Austin Christian Fellowship where he accepted Christ during a Sunday School class. However, his family soon after moved to First Evangelical Free Church of Austin, where John served on various leadership and worship teams for his youth group and really began to make his faith his own.
John decided to head out to North Carolina for a little change of scenery during college, and he is proud to be a Wake Forest Demon Deacon. There John found a love for the Appalachian Mountains, sweet tea, and his Deacon athletics. While at Wake John was connected in all sorts of areas throughout student life, but is particularly fond of his time with the Wesley Foundation, Student to Student Fellowship, the Grand Olde Pipers, Pre-School Conference, the Gospel Choir, all things intramural sports, and his time working with the Wake Women’s Basketball Team. John is also particularly thankful that Wake is allowing him to pursue his passion and strengths at Family Legacy while working to finish his Religion degree.
John got connected to Family Legacy in the fall of 2006, when an Austinite and friend Mindy Clow convinced John and his brother Will to head to Zambia the next summer. John and Will enjoyed it so much they brought back their mother and brothers over the next two summers, and in the summer of 2009, John stayed in Zambia all summer as part of Family Legacy’s Summer Staff. And after talking all throughout the next fall with Wake Forest and Greer Kendall, it was decided that Family Legacy was a perfect fit for John’s future. John will be using his Summer Staff experience and his experience in Public Relation, Press, and Marketing with different organizations and groups in Washington D.C., Winston-Salem, and at Wake Forest, to coordinate and help oversee the child sponsorship process in the Father’s Heart Office, and will help with some external communications for both Father’s Heart and for Family Legacy. John is very excited about the path the Lord has led him down and can’t wait to see how the Lord will use him to impact the orphans of Zambia!
John’s favorite verse is:
Revelation 21:4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
